The Canungra RSL Services Club was first chartered in 1946. The local veterans wanted somewhere for all the returning servicemen to meet and support each other, folliwing their return from World War II. The land that the Club currently stands on was generously donated in December 1954 by Claude C. Smith from the 2/26 Infantary Battallion, an ex POW Singapore.
The first building came from Camp Cable Road.
The Club was granted their liquor licence in the early 80's and became the Canungra RSL Services Club Incorporated in 1992.
