Canungra War Veteran Memorial Plaque Map and Book
Memorial plaques have been placed throughout the township in
memory of soldiers from Canungra who gave their lives in World War I
and World War II. You are invited to view the Canungra War Veterans
book which shows the location of each of the plaques, a list of the
soldiers' names and details of their war service. There are also copies
of correspondence and details such as their previous occupations in
some of the soldiers' files. This makes for moving reading and which
brings home the personal tragedies of those who lost their families in
conflict. It is worthwhile reading for families and those interested in
local history.
This book is held at the Club and is available on request.
